Why the phoenix witch?
July 6, 2025
So it is actually quite funny that I decided to call this site the phoenix witch.
Because for most of my childhood at least I had a obsession with dragons rather then phoenixes.
It wasn't as suprising for me that when I first started with witchcraft I worked a lot with dragons.
I worked a lot with dragons from different elements for different kind of purposes.
Because of that connection I had with dragons I did consider following the draconic wicca path as they called it back then.
However after having met a draconic witch. He explained to me when he met a dragon he felt a overwhelming present.
And from the explanation he gave on his practice it seemed more like a heavily servitude relation
While the dragons I worked with felt more like older siblings that I look up to.
Because of that I decided to look for some other path instead.
So to get back to the point. Why the phoenix witch?
Well when I first started my craft, I did a meditation to meet my spirit guide.
I followed a trail of blue feathers up a mountain. Once I made it to the top I met my spirit guide.
Who was a large phoenix but rather then the orange feathers that I expected it was a blue phoenix.
He helped me a lot during the early stages, helping me in meditations, while preparing spells
Or just to save my ass if I put myself in danger again.
Because I am pretty impulsive and do actions before thinking a bit more often then I would like to admit
The blue phoenix left me when I decided to quit witchcraft after a spell backfired horribly
And a regular phoenix helped me instead when I started doing lightwork for a few years
Now that I returned to witchcraft I have contact with both phoenixes again.
although nowadays I mainly call upon them if I need their assistance during a spell.
